#11 Timber Frame Raising Day 1

This is a day we've been waiting for for such a long time! The day our beautiful timber frame, the heart of our new home, rises up from the floor boards. And the day was absolutely glorious in many ways including the weather!


When we arrived the rafters (shown here) and all the pieces were staged and ready to go!

The first post goes up. A crew of five from Lancaster County Timber Frames is working today, including Josh Coleman, who helped raise our original timber frame in 2002.

The first Arch Chord King Post truss is being lowered onto the posts. This particular truss has the name of our property and the year of the timber frame raising (Timber Oaks, 2026)
