We want our visitors to get an immediate sense of what our home holds inside—and to include Pacific Northwest architechture—so we incorporated exterior timber frame elements that echo the structure within. The gables feature arch chord king post trusses, and the entry includes a timber frame front porch that offers a welcoming first impression.

These exterior timbers are crafted from Douglas fir, chosen not only for its durability in outdoor conditions but also because it’s a signature wood of the Pacific Northwest. Its lighter weight makes it ideal for exterior timber framing, complementing the white oak we selected for the main interior structure.
